How do you take your Coffee Break Windsor – Essex?

Become a Coffee Break® Host and make difference in your community.

How do you take your Coffee Break®? The Alzheimer Society of Windsor & Essex County’s (ASWE) annual Coffee Break® fundraiser campaign kicks off September 1st and continues until November 30, 2017.

This year Brady’s Pharmacy hosted the kickoff campaign at their Essex location on August 29th.  This year’s goal is to surpass last year’s record of $34,000 to help support local individuals with dementia and their care partners so they are able to live well and independently for as long as possible.

“We are so happy to be hosting a Coffee Break® for the Alzheimer Society,” said Tim Brady, owner of Brady’s Pharmacy, “They play such an important role in our community providing counselling, support, and respite programs for those that are in need and this is why the funds are so important to keep these programs active.”

What is Coffee Break®?

A Coffee Break® is any social activity where hosts offer coffee in exchange for a donation to the Alzheimer Society. Coffee Break® can be customized to your friends, family or organization – your coffee break might last a few hours or a few weeks! ASWE provides the coffee, cups and lids, stir sticks, sugar, promotional materials, and even a volunteer to help out and answer questions if you’d like. All you have to do is brew!

Is it only limited to coffee?

Not at all! In fact, some Coffee Break® hosts add a bake sale, raffle, auction, or even make it a milk and cookies break for your younger attendees. We also offer paper coffee cup cutouts to businesses for customers to purchase and proudly display their names in support of the Society.

Special thanks to our local sponsors, Colonial Coffee, Biz X Magazine, and the national campaign sponsor Freshco.

The Alzheimer Society is the leading nationwide health charity for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Active in more than 150 communities across Canada, the Society offers Help for Today through our programs and services for people living with dementia and Hope for Tomorrow…® by supporting research to find the cause and the cure.
