Mortgage Suite Cold To Cozy Winter Wear 2023 Campaign BEGINS

Local mortgage team Mortgage Suite (Dominion Lending Centres FC Funding) recently kicked off their first annual winter clothing drive in early October 2023.

The Community Outreach Representative of the Mortgage Suite team, Sasha Syed, first thought of the initiative when a local west end principal identified a need for children’s winter clothing. 

“We ran a backpack campaign during the month of August for kids in need of backpacks for back to school,” explains Syed. “In doing this, we learned of the need for children’s winter wear mostly for grades 1-8. I decided that this would be a worthy cause and we created a campaign around it. We’ll be running this campaign for a two-month period starting October 3 and ending December 1. Children’s clothing will be distributed throughout the campaign to local west end schools and adult clothing will be distributed through the Soup Shack, a mobile soup kitchen located downtown that serves the public every evening.”

Both children’s (grades 1 to 8) and adult’s clothing will be collected and distributed to those who need it most. This initiative is in partnership with local west end schools and the Soup Shack, a program by Street Angels.

Drop offs can be done at 1240 Pierre Avenue in Windsor on Wednesdays from 3 to 4 p.m. and Saturday noon to 4 p.m.

Syed works from the office located at 1821 Provincial Road in Windsor and you can drop off winter wear there as well on Mondays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
