Concerts For A Cure Kicks Off with The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County

The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County will receive funding from the Concerts for a Cure campaign thanks to the generosity of Caesars Windsor Cares. Proceeds from October and November ticket sales will support the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County and its Greenhouse Programming.  Caesars Windsor recognizes the importance of supporting the mission of the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County of putting the needs of their clients at the center of every interaction.

The funds will support programming related to a new Greenhouse that has been installed at the Hospice’s Windsor Campus. This programming will offer a variety of options, including: year-round grief and bereavement support, through gardening, planting, wreath-making and more; Cooking for One classes, supporting those who have recently lost a partner; the Circle of Life Children’s Program, supporting children who have lost a loved one; and butterfly wellness programs. Some of the items planted will remain in the greenhouse as part of these programs, and others will go home with participants as keepsakes or legacy items. Any herbs and/or produce grown in the greenhouse will be used in the Hospice Residence Kitchen, to nourish patients and families spending time at Hospice.

“We are honoured to partner with Caesars Windsor on this initiative. Their commitment to local organizations speaks to the importance of supporting palliative care in our community. The dollars raised as part of Concerts for a Cure will directly impact local patients and their loved ones, and ensure they receive wrap-around support, and memorable care.”

Nancy Brockenshire, Executive Director, The Hospice
