WRH CONFIRMS DEVONSHIRE MALL LOCATION AS FUTURE VACCINATION SITE EFFECTIVE JUNE 21
Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH), along with our partners at the City of Windsor, the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) and property manager Cushman & Wakefield Asset Services Canada, have announced the future opening of a new mass COVID-19 vaccination site at Windsor’s Devonshire Mall, effective June 21, 2021. Vaccinations remain available by appointment only and no walk-ins are permitted.
The new site was selected for ongoing vaccination needs while the process begins to decant the vaccination centres at the University of Windsor’s Windsor Hall (the former Windsor Star building downtown) and the St. Clair College Sportsplex to allow both of those locations to return to their respective educational and athletic purposes in time for the fall 2021 semester.
The timeline for the decanting of these locations is as follows:
- Effective June 19, 2021, the University of Windsor’s Windsor Hall Vaccination Centre located at Pitt and Ferry in downtown Windsor will be vacated and returned to the university. All patients with vaccination appointments at Windsor Hall between today and June 18 should continue to attend Windsor Hall as scheduled. All patients who may have pre-booked second dose appointments at Windsor Hall between July 11and July 21 will be rebooked at the same time and date for the Devonshire Mall Vaccination Centre. These individuals will be contacted directly to confirm that they are aware of the new location.
- Effective July 22, 2021, the St. Clair College Sportsplex Vaccination Centre located at the St. Clair College Campus will be vacated and returned to the college. All patients with vaccination appointments at the Sportsplex between today and July 21, 2021, should continue to come to the Sportsplex as scheduled.
All other Windsor/Essex vaccination centres will remain open until further notice.
