EPICentre’s Crossborder MentHERship Program Aims To Empower Local Female Entrepreneurs to Tackle U.S. Market

The University of Windsor Entrepreneurship, Practice and Innovation Centre has once again teamed up with the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Canada, this time to support and empower Canadian women entrepreneurs eager to expand their businesses into the dynamic U.S. market.

Funded through the Diplomacy Grants Program, Crossborder MentHERship Program in strategic partnership with International Strategic Management (ISM), including advisory services for the EPICentre VentureWomen cohort, this comprehensive mentorship initiative aims to provide strategic guidance to women-owned or co-owned small businesses in the Windsor Essex region.

“We’re thrilled to announce this partnership with ISM,” says EPICentre Director Wen Teoh. “EPICentre has always, and will continue to work towards, empowering entrepreneurs by equipping them with the tools and knowledge needed to succeed. This partnership will allow participants to engage in up to four mentorship sessions with experienced female International Strategic Management team mentors to guide them through their entrepreneurial journey.”

Each participant will receive up to four mentorship sessions with an experienced female mentor from the International Strategic Management team to help them with business strategies, market entry strategies, legal and regulatory guidance, networking opportunities and more.

Faris Alami, Founder and CEO of ISM comments: “It’s an honour to journey alongside women entrepreneurs, the EPICentre, and the University of Windsor team to witness the impact the centre has on entrepreneurs developing businesses. The ISM team is looking forward to contributing to this dynamic environment.”

At the conclusion of the program, participants will be invited to showcase their businesses at an in-person event on August 8, 2024. This event will provide a platform for entrepreneurs to promote their businesses, share their stories, and further build valuable connections in the business community.

The Crossborder MentHERship Program applications are now open until Friday, March 29, 2024. Local female-owned (or co-owned) startups in the Windsor Essex region who have been in operation for up to five years are encouraged to visit the EPICentre website to learn more about this opportunity and apply online.
