EverJonge Homes “Dream Home Contest”
Kids in Essex County have been at home for 4 months and summer is just beginning. EverJonge Homes (pronounced “Ever-Young”) is hoping to inspire some creativity, with $750 in prizes. “This has been a difficult spring for many families in our community, we want to help in anyway we can,” said Nait Everitt-deJonge, EverJonge Homes, General Manager. “Building dream homes has been a family tradition for over 30 years, I can’t wait to see what these kids include in their dream homes”.
The contest is intentionally designed to inspire as much creativity as possible, it’s up to the kids to decide if they want to build a mansion out of popsicle sticks, or a paper mâchè cottage, for example. Dream Home designs can include landscaping, furniture, figurines, animals etc. the more creative, the better.
The Dream Homes can be dropped off at EverJonge’s newest model home in Amherstburg, 193 Davis Street. The top models will be shown off on Facebook for Windsor-Essex to vote for their favourite. Grand prize is $300 cash to the Dream Home builder plus a $300 donation to their favourite charity. Runner-up receives $150 cash prize.
“Of course we want to reward the child for building the winning Dream Home, but we also love the idea of the winner helping someone else’s dreams come true,” says Everitt-deJonge, “that’s why we’re making a donation to their favourite charity on their behalf”. EverJonge Homes has continued to support our local Essex County community, most recently with a $1000 donation to the June 27 Miracle Day campaign.
