A Successful First YQGgreen Expo October 2023

Green Marine, Green Data and Green Businesses – all part of the successful first YQGgreenExpo held at WFCU Centre this past weekend as a kick-off to “Canada’s Waste Reduction Week”.

The event featured info on electric vehicles and renewable energy systems to eco-friendly building materials, local honey, organic waste disposal and even content restoration – and an overall firsthand look at the future of sustainability.

“As a first-time event I couldn’t be happier to see the level of support from community partners and our expert panels provided such valuable insights and information.“

Elizabeth Elias-Hernandez, Founder of YQGgreen

The YQGgreen Expo offered networking and collaboration among like-minded individuals and businesses.

Attendees were able to connect with industry leaders, sustainability experts, and fellow enthusiasts to allow for partnerships to drive the development of eco-friendly initiatives. Industry leaders from our community including our presenting sponsor Windsor Port Authority joined together with Moderator Adam Castle from WEtech Alliance to discuss how all who attended could adopt more sustainable habits in their daily lives.

Local charities came together to create a drive-thru drop-off for local residents to drop off items such as eyeglasses, medications, computers, clothing and a variety of household items.

YQGgreen Expo 2023 was also pleased to welcome volunteers from local schools and appreciate all their hard work.

The VIP event Friday night had great food — and some drinks — and a panel featuring moderator Adam Castle and panelists, Steve Salmons, from Windsor Port Authority, and Dr. Kyle Bassett from Climate Neutral, as they discussed regional assets, homegrown solutions, and the power of private-public partnerships.

Innovation, education, and collaboration is the foundation of the YQG Green organization which started with a networking group of businesses focused on developing a sustainable and environmentally conscious future.
