FOOD FOR FAMILIES ON FAMILY DAY

Once again, Co-operators PLP Financial Services has joined forces with other local businesses –
Sobeys St. Clair Beach and LendCity Mortgages; and new this year, Signature Realty Group and
Rafih Auto Group, to donate 1,200 bags filled with non-perishable food items for families
supported by the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society (WECAS).

The “Food for Families on Family Day” initiative has been a community tradition in support of
WECAS over the last few years. Volunteers will gather at Sobeys (Manning Rd.) on Family Day,
Monday, February 17 th from 10:00am to 1:00pm to fill bags with assorted non-perishable foods
that will then be distributed to families receiving services from the Children’s Aid Society.
Special guests, members of the Windsor Express team, will also be making an appearance!
Organizer, Paul Lue Pann, shares why he and other sponsors continue to give and support this
initiative year after year:

“Food insecurity is on the rise in our community and food banks tend to be depleted
after the Holiday season, which leaves little resources for families at this time of year.
We want to do our part to help families during these challenging times by filling an
immediate need – food! We are grateful to be able to give back to our community

The public can support ‘Food for Families’ by dropping off non-perishable food items at Sobeys
on Manning Rd, by 10am on Monday, February 17th . A monetary donation can also be made online.
