Home Depot Store Employees Raise $9,314 to Help Youth

Employees of The Home Depot store 7228 at Walker & Division in Windsor are celebrating the success of their in-store Orange Door Project fundraising campaign. From July 6 to August 1, they helped raise $9,314.00 to assist formerly homeless residents of The Windsor Residence for Young Men (WRYM). This is the largest amount raised in friendly competition during the campaign among the nine The Home Depot Canada stores in southwestern Ontario.

The Home Depot Canada Foundation is committed to preventing and helping to end youth homelessness, pledging to invest $50 million by 2022. The Orange Door Project, The Home Depot’s national fundraising campaign (OrangeDoorProject.ca), is one of its many fundraising components. The Home Depot customers can make a donation online or in-store in support of a local youth-focused housing charity. All funds raised at the Walker & Division store in Windsor during the July campaign will assist residents of The Windsor Residence for Young Men.

“On behalf of the residents, volunteers and staff of WRYM, we sincerely thank The Home Depot people for their cheerful and energetic dedication. They have made a real difference for local youth experiencing homelessness!”

WRYM President Brian Worrall
