Hospice Kicks Off 18th Annual Face to Face Campaign

It’s that time of year again! Campaign founder John Fairley, as well as Honorary Co-Chairs Jamie Henderson and Michael G. Solcz have announced the start of the Hospice Face to Face Campaign!

Canvassers are pounding the pavement (while keeping their social distance), generous sponsors have come on board to support the cause, and there’s already talk of making sure this year’s Face to Face campaign is a resounding success!

This year’s campaign aims to raise funds in support of Hospice, as they continue to provide care, programs and services at no cost to patients and their loved ones.

The 2020 Face to Face campaign will operate similar to previous years, with canvassers able to collect donations both online and in person. Community members can show their support by pledging a specific canvasser, or supporting the cause as a whole, also either online or in person.

The Hospice encourages all participants to follow physical distancing and any other guidelines recommended by Health Canada, the Ontario Ministry of Health and our local Public Health Unit.

Founded to address compassionate end-of-life care, The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County Inc. has been an integral part of the Windsor-Essex region since 1979. The Hospice provides care at no cost in our two Hospice Residential Homes (Windsor and Erie Shores/Leamington), through the Community Palliative Medicine Program and through their Wellness Programs and Services. With only partial government funding, it has been through the generous support of the community that Hospice has become the first palliative hospice village in North America. Over time, The Hospice has adapted to meet the needs of the community, and continues to address the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families, now and into the future.
