On Wednesday, September 18th, the Inspiration 100 Association Members gathered at the Windsor Club for the Fourth Annual General Meeting and Third Annual Grants Award Ceremony. A total of $40,000 has been granted to five local charities. A nomination and voting process took place with the Inspiration 100 Membership and the following charities were selected to receive grants:
- The Canadian Mental Health Association – Windsor Essex County Branch
- Community Living Essex County
- Maryvale
- The Sunshine Foundation Canada
- Windsor Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation
To date, Inspiration 100 has welcomed 96 local community philanthropists into the Association and within the past three years alone, has granted a total of $90,000 to fifteen local charities within Windsor-Essex. With the fund reaching a million within five years, the Association will continue to award grants to more local charities, ensuring long-term impact and support of Windsor-Essex.
“Each of the 96 current members feels a personal responsibly in strengthening Windsor-Essex. This grass roots team of local philanthropists are providing critical funding for community groups at a time when governments at all levels are cutting back. The diversity of the donors brings a unique opportunity to collaboratively look at a wider range of community groups in need. The fund is still in its infancy stage. The best is yet to come as the fund continues to mature and the allocation of the distribution increases.” –Andrew Tepperman, Chair of the Inspiration 100TM Executive Committee
