Windsor Essex Care for Kids Foundation Announces Commitment to new Ronald McDonald House Windsor

The Windsor Essex Care for Kids Foundation (W.E. Care for Kids), a leader in fundraising for local paediatric health care, announced a $400,000 commitment in support of the new Ronald McDonald House Windsor.

Honorary Campaign Chair, Celina Ussoletti, announced W.E. Care for Kids commitment, stating that W.E. Care for Kids is confident that the “new facility will positively impact ill children and their families” and that “W.E. Care for Kids is honored o be able to support such a wonderful initiative for our community”.

In addition to announcing the Foundation’s $400,000 commitment, Celina also announced that the W.E. Care for Kids campaign in support of the new Ronald McDonald House has already received lots of community support from some major donors.

The Stephanie & Barry Zekelman Foundation are being credited with being the first donors to W.E. Care for Kids’ $400,000 campaign, and helping to kick off fundraising efforts for the Ronald McDonald House Windsor.

Their generous commitment of $150,000 gave W.E. Care for Kids’ campaign a generous boost. Celina Ussoletti, Campaign Chair noted that “Stephanie and Barry are well known within our community for being huge champions for Windsor and Essex County…W.E. Care for Kids is very fortunate to have their support, trust and friendship”. In honour of the Zekelman’s generosity two public lounge areas within the new Ronald McDonald House will be named in their honour.

Camille and Dave Cecchin, who made a generous $50,000 donation in support of the new facility will have a room in the new Ronald McDonald House named in their honour.

Fo Abiad of Windsor Textiles Limited also made a significant contribution to the campaign donating $50,000 towards W.E. Care for Kids $400,000 commitment. In recognition of this gift the Kitchen in the House will be named.

TCI Titan Group is also among the major donors announced this morning, Art Ussoletti generous donated $20,000 towards the W.E. Care for Kids campaign in support of the Ronald McDonald House.

Chair of the campaign, Celina Ussoletti noted that the generosity of these major donors is very inspiring and that W.E. Care for Kids is grateful to be supported and trusted by these community leaders. She noted that while these significant contributions have gotten W.E. Care for Kids close to being able to complete its commitment, there is still work to be done.

Celina noted that “We still have $130,000 left to go and it is our hope that the community will really rally behind W.E. Care for Kids this year as we continue to work towards completing this commitment to the Ronald McDonald House, as well as continuing to support important paediatric programs at our local hospital, John McGivney Children’s Centre and W.E.T.R.A.”.
