The Pearl Mist, a Great Lakes & Georgian Bay Cruise is here in Windsor-Essex today.
The cruises started in Toronto and will slowly make its way to Chicago, Illinois during a luxurious 11 night cruise of the Great Lakes aboard the Pearl Mist.
One of the ports of call is right here is Windsor. Among the many excursions offered, travellers are offered their choice of what they’d like to visit for the day, from the The Canadian Club Heritage Centre to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. The Center tells the story of Hiram Walker and how he opened a whiskey distillery that modernized the sale of liquor. Once Hiram’s 16th Century Italian style mansion, the Center is filled with history, from gorgeous dining rooms to the famous basement’s Speak Easy room where gangster Al Capone held meetings during the 1930’s prohibition.
At the Henry Ford Musuem, explore the processes and personal collection of one of America’s greatest entrepreneurs- Henry Ford. Noted for creating the first automobile accessible to the middle class due to his stream-lined factory processes, Mr. Ford was instrumental in kick-starting the American Industrial Revolution. The museum is a National Historic Landmark that contains several famous pieces of machinery, homes, and exhibits, including John F. Kennedy’s presidential limousine, Abraham Lincoln’s chair from Ford’s Theatre, Thomas Edison’s laboratory, the Wright Brothers’ bicycle shop, and the Rosa Parks bus. You’ll take a ride through history on a unique experience aboard a Model T Ford.
The Pearl Mist features six decks, the ship is the perfect size to provide an exceptional luxury experience without feeling overwhelmed. Open sun decks give you plenty to do between ports, whether you’re admiring the view from one of the lounge chairs, enjoying the evening’s musical entertainment, or having a drink with friends under the sun shade.
