Having Trouble Paying Your Taxes?

Property owners who are having trouble keeping up with their property tax bills are encouraged to seek lower cost financing alternatives which are available through local financial institutions. Assistance through the City for property taxes is provided by way of the following programs:

  • Tax Repayment Program: available to all property owners (up to 60 months)
  • Tax Relief Program: available to residential property owners that meet the set thresholds (application deadline February 28, 2017)

For your convenience; the City of Windsor can accept tax payments through a variety of methods:

  • At an approved bank, credit union or trust company
  • By mail
  • By telephone or online banking
  • With your mortgage
  • At customer care centres and City Hall drop-off boxes

In the event of a Canada Post work stoppage, residents are encouraged not to mail in their tax payments but to make alternative arrangements to ensure the payment is made on time. Payments not received within the tax office by the due date will be subject to late payment charges.
