Raise-a-Reader Collecting Books for Sale
Donate a book today in support of literacy.
Windsor Star Raise-a-Reader program is asking the community to donate gently used and new books for the 9th annual Raise-a-Reader Book Sale.
Donated books can be dropped off from April 2th to April 22th to Canadian Tire Stores in Windsor, Amherstburg, Essex and Leamington.
Fiction and non-fiction books are welcome. New and gently used children’s books are in great demand. Encyclopaedias, magazines, textbooks, Reader’s Digest and National Geographic cannot be accepted.
Since 2010, the Raise-a-Reader book sale has raised $152,700 for local literacy programs.
The Raise-a-Reader Book Sale is brought to you by Windsor Star and proudly supported by A Book of My Own, Windsor Crossing, Windsor-Essex Canadian Tire Stores, Fastsigns and Koolini Italian Eatery.
The book sale takes place April 28, 29 and May 5 at Windsor Crossing.
Windsor Star Raise-a-Reader campaign is part of the award-winning national fundraising initiative of the Postmedia Foundation. It is a unique philanthropic program that increases awareness and raises money and other resources in support of family literacy programs.
One hundred percent of funds raised in Windsor and Essex County stay in the community. Financial donations can be made by visiting www.raiseareader.com or call 1-866-637-READ (7323).
Since its inception in 2002, more than $791,000 has been raised in Windsor-Essex for local literacy initiatives by the program.
