Reopening Stage 2 – A Message from Windsor Essex Chamber President & CEO

Yesterday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced that Windsor and Essex County will be permitted to move to reopening Stage 2, with the exception of Kingsville and Leamington. We are thankful for the Premier’s support of our region and appreciative of his ongoing communication with the leaders of our business community.

The Windsor-Essex Chamber will continue to advocate for increased financial support, specific to Leamington & Kingsville, and unique from other funding programs and resources that have already been announced. Without increased testing and support to the agriculture sector, the reopening of the Kingsville and Leamington communities will continue to be delayed and those businesses will continue to be at a disadvantage under the current circumstances.

For our Members in Windsor-Essex who are excited to finally be able to reopen, we wish you much success in restarting your business while working within the guidelines set by the province. Please feel free to use the reopening toolkits and checklists provided on our COVID-19 Resources page. As you start to open your doors to the public, please share your news with us via social media or to [email protected] so we can spread the word.

Please stay safe, maintain social distance, and use appropriate PPEs, while supporting our local economy so that we may continue to advance and beat COVID-19.

Now begins the real work of turning things around.

Rakesh Naidu,
President & CEO
