The Safety Village Opens Its Doors For Community Safety Day
Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 11 am to 2 pm, the public is invited to The Safety Village to celebrate “Community Safety Day”.
“This marks our first Open House style event since the onset of the pandemic so we are thrilled to be in a position where we can open our doors to the public again” says Melissa Lauzon, Executive Director of The Safety Village. “Not only will the day be filled with fun and interactive learning, it’s also an opportunity to come together as a community and say thank you to our First Responder family”. Made possible through funding received by an Enbridge-Fuelling Futures grant, there will be no charge for families to attend.
The event features:
- Safety demonstrations presented by Specialized Units of The Windsor Police Service
- Fire Safety presented by Windsor Fire and Rescue Services
- Positive Ticketing presented by LaSalle Police Service
- Bike and Jeep Rides
- First Aid and Emergency Response presented by Essex Windsor EMS
- Tours of Emergency Service Vehicle

The Safety Village provides safety education in an engaging and barrier-free environment to thousands of children and families each year. Safe Kids programs, taught by local emergency service partners aim to acclimatize our most vulnerable to their surroundings as early as possible.
