Local Philanthropist Sam Sinjari Donates Full Thanksgiving Dinner to Hand in Hand Support, a local Non-Profit Charity, in Windsor
Thanksgiving will be especially meaningful this year at Hand in Hand Support, a vital program in our local community that helps and houses men suffering from addiction and guides them into recovery, thanks to the generosity of local philanthropist and community leader Sam Sinjari. Sinjari has donated all the food and supplies needed for a full Thanksgiving dinner to the organization.

This generous contribution will give the men in recovery at Hand in Hand Support the opportunity to come together—not just to share a holiday meal, but to prepare it themselves. In keeping with the program’s focus on personal growth, community, and accountability, the meal will be cooked entirely by the residents, many of whom have no family to return to during the holiday season.
“Our men are working incredibly hard every day to rebuild their lives,” said Elizabeth Geddes, spokesperson for Hand in Hand Support. “This dinner represents more than a meal—it’s an opportunity for connection, healing, and a sense of home. Preparing and enjoying this meal together helps strengthen the community they’re building here. Sam Sinjari’s generosity is what makes it all possible.”
The menu includes all the traditional Thanksgiving favourites: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, desserts, and more—every ingredient provided through Sinjari’s donation.
When asked about his contribution, Sam Sinjari simply said, “I am just doing my part.”
That humility reflects the spirit of his ongoing commitment to Windsor. His gift ensures that this Thanksgiving, the men supported by Hand in Hand Support will not only enjoy a nourishing dinner—but also the pride and purpose that comes with preparing it together.
Hand in Hand Support continues to play a crucial role in Windsor’s recovery community, offering housing, counselling, and structured support for men determined to break free from addiction and rebuild their lives. Donations and community involvement ensure that the program remains a safe, supportive environment where lasting change is possible.
