Second Chance Animal Rescue Doggy Play Date!
It may have been dreary weather but get ready for a feel good story and cute dog pics! Second Chance Animal Rescue Windsor-Essex hosted a reunion for Sadie’s Sweethearts on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Baseball diamond off Norman in Windsor.
SCAR is a volunteer and foster based, non-profit animal rescue organization located in Windsor-Essex County. Running solely on donations from the community and fundraising efforts to help these animals in need. SCAR assess each animal that comes into their rescue and place them into a suitable forever home based on that animals needs and personality.
Sadie’s Sweethearts are a family of dogs, eight girls and three boys all from one mother dog. This family made their debut back in 2016 and were all adopted through SCAR.
“Sadie came to SCAR from a reservation up in the Quebec area,” says Cherie Smith, member of the Foster/Adoption Team at Second Chance Animal Rescue in Windsor/Essex County. ,” says Cherie Smith, member of the Foster/Adoption Team at Second Chance Animal Rescue in Windsor/Essex County. She was already pregnant when we got word that she was in need of rescue so we agreed to take her into our rescue. Sadie has not seen her babies since they were about 10 weeks old so we decided to give them one last chance to see their mom before they were adopted.”
Both Sadie and her puppies have been adopted into homes and since the puppies are almost 10 months old, SCAR decided to host a reunion for the puppies to interact together one last time. Eight of the 11 attended the reunion.
The reunion play date also played a part in the puppies progress and for their new families to witness them all together.
