Security ONE Raises $10,000 From Eric Ethridge And Buck Twenty Concert
During these unprecedented times, social distancing guidelines and restrictions on non-essential service industries have led to layoffs for many. In addition, many community members who are immuno compromised struggle to find high quality Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as they visit hospitals for treatment.
Recognizing the vulnerable position this puts individuals and families in, Security ONE Alarm Systems teamed with Canadian Country music star Eric Ethridge and Windsor’s Buck Twenty to host a live concert stream for charity on Friday May 15. The live concert attracted over 2,700 streams on Facebook & Youtube and viewers were encouraged to donate on a GoFundMe page set up by Security ONE to support food banks and the procurement of high-quality PPE for the vulnerable in Southwestern Ontario.
“Eric Etheridge and Buck Twenty were quick to lend their support to this cause,” says Corey Robertson, Manager of Community Partnerships at Security ONE and former Program Director at CHYR 96.7FM. “As a result of the live stream, $5,000 in donations were raised. Security ONE has matched the amount bringing the total raised to $10,000!”
Windsor Essex Food Bank Association President June Muir indicates the need in the community is growing.
“We’ve seen the registration of first-time user grow tremendously since the start of COVID,” she says. “We believe the long-term financial effects will be felt by families long after the economy opens back up. We are so thankful to Security ONE for organizing this event.”
Chris Neumann, President & CEO of Security ONE Alarm Systems, says giving back to the community is in Security ONE’s DNA.
“Half of the funds will be divided between the Windsor Essex Food Bank Association, Chatham and London food banks and the balance will go towards the purchase of high quality PPE for immuno compromised patients” he notes.
In partnership with BioGear.ca, a Canadian supplier of PPE, Security ONE will be able to provide protective apparel that carries a N99 rating – far superior than any common face covering available to the general public.
Neumann concludes, “The team at Security ONE made it possible to take a crazy idea to host our own virtual concert and combine it with a great cause to give back to those who need it most in our community. It was a memorable night that I won’t forget.”
