Shout Out to Frontliners During Nursing Week 2020
Held May 11 to 17, 2020 in Ontario, Nursing Week is celebrated across Canada during the week of Florence Nightingale’s May 12th birthday. It is a time to recognize the dedication and achievement of nurses – registered nurses (RNs), registered practical nurses (RPNs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) – and their contribution to the health and well-being of Ontarians.
ONA’s theme this year reflects the valuable role nurses play in our health-care system. Nurses’ work is their calling, guided by these core values, which are at the heart of the nursing profession:
Our Calling: Care, Compassion, Comfort Notre vocation : soins, compassion, réconfort
This year is particularly special as it is celebrating Florence Nightingale’s 200th birthday. As well, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared 2020 the Year of the Nurse and Midwife.
Join over 68,000 front-line RNs, RPNs, NPs and health-care professionals, and more than 18,000 nursing student affiliates, working in Ontario hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, industry and clinics, in celebrating Nursing Week. Recognize their dedication to a public health system that delivers safe, quality care.
Editor’s note: We here at Biz X magazine would like to thank each and every person in the medical profession from PSW’s, to nurses, to doctors, to surgeons, lab technicians, hospital janitorial maintenance staff and all those working in the heatlhcare industry for their selflessness in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Stay safe.
