BIZ X WAS THERE – Advance Business Systems Annual American Thanksgiving Day Football Classic 2023

Advance Business Systems is pleased to report another successful day at their 32nd annual American Thanksgiving Football Classic Charity Event held on November 23, 2023.

It definitely was the largest networking get-together in southwestern Ontario with over 500 guests in attendance at the Windsor Yacht Club, 9000 Riverside Drive East.

“An event of this magnitude does not just happen overnight, there are many hours of hard work put in by everyone involved,” state Mike Burnett, President of Advance Business Systems and Jack Jorgensen, CEO. “We would like to start by thanking our sponsors, our staff, our suppliers and the entire team at the club for helping to host this great event.”

Attendees were able to watch the football games on TV (sadly though the Detroit Lions lost!), have a few drinks, enjoy a buffet of football themed cuisine, met new and past contacts and perhaps even enjoy a cigar with a glass of scotch in an outdoor tent on the river.

Through attendee donations and the contributions of Advance Business Systems, the event raised $22,500.00 for W.E. Care for Kids Windsor/Essex.

Sponsors included Conquer Construction & Drilling Technologies Ltd., Holiday Harbour Marina, Festival Event Rentals, Syles, Ground Effects, RE/MAX Preferred Realty Ltd., Brokerage, Rafih Auto Group, Daniel Topp Law, FBM, Deerbrook Realty, Miller Canfield and more.

Each year, a local children-based charitable organization is selected on behalf of Advance Business Systems, whereby 100% of all incoming donations are collected and distributed to the selected organization.

Past recipients include Make A Wish Foundation, Sparky’s Toy Drive, Children’s First, Family Respite Services, Children’s Aid Society Youth Advisory Committee, Farrow Riverside Miracle Park, John McGivney Children’s Centre, and many others.

To date, this fun and exciting event has collected and donated well over $250,000 to various organizations in our community. Advance Business Systems continues to be very active in supporting many organizations with this event and throughout the year and for 2023 the chosen charity recipient was the W.E. Care for Kids Foundation.

W.E. Care for Kids is dedicated to enhancing the health and wellness of children in Windsor and Essex County by inspiring community giving. It is the local leader in fundraising for children’s health and wellness, driven by volunteers and supported by the community.

This non-profit organization is dedicated to raising funds for local pediatric programs at Windsor Regional Hospital, Met and Ouellette Campuses, Erie Shores HealthCare, John McGivney Children’s Centre, Windsor Essex Therapeutic Riding Association, as well as the W.E.
