New United Way Welcomes New Director Sherrilynn Colley-Vegh to Help Build Windsor Essex Community Capacity

United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County is pleased to announce that Sherrilynn Colley-Vegh has joined the United Way team as the new Director of Leadership Development and Training, where she will oversee United Way’s Leadership Windsor/Essex program.

Sherrilynn is a recently retired Principal and Chief Communications Officer for the Catholic school board with over 30 years of experience as an educator, administrator, and community leader. She has developed and taught leadership programs and administrator qualification programs for the Essex and Windsor Catholic Board, the University of Windsor and International Baccalaureate.

Recognizing a need, United Way developed one of only 22 Leadership programs across Canada, offering a unique learning experience for emerging leaders. Participants come to the program from all sectors – labour, government, academic, business, and not-for-profit – to work together and ultimately strengthen Windsor and Essex County. The 10-month curriculum builds skills, knowledge, and relationships with the goal of creating transformational civic leaders. Up to 30 participants go through the program annually.

In addition, Colley-Vegh will lead United Way’s Training and Consulting Services, which offer flexible and affordable programs tailored to meet the unique needs of the non-profit sector. United Way recognizes that professional development in the non-profit sector is a vital tool for strengthening organizational effectiveness in the face of continuous change.
