The Summer Ending That Everyone Dreads…School

After a summer of friends, family and vacation, it’s time to get back into the routine of hard work and dedication. I’ve got your top 5 things to remember when going back-to-school.

  1. Be prepared – Don’t be that kid that comes the first week without your learning tools. I can tell you right now, you will need a writing utensil, paper and a binder for sure.
  2. Get into a routine- As my college classes time varies during the week, I tend to get up at the same time everyday regardless. Having a good breakfast and making sure everything I need for the day is packed. Giving yourself that extra 10-15 minutes in the morning to go over last-minute homework checks, re-packing your back to make sure you have everything and eating that breakfast can really give you that boost of confidence you need in the morning to start your day.
  3. Don’t leave homework and projects to the last minute…ever – Doing homework as soon as you get home (if you can) is one of the best ways to keep the knowledge inside your head. Reviewing your homework after you get home for a least a half hour everyday can really boost your own confidence as well as your knowledge of the subject. Never leave your understanding at school and give yourself sometime to work on a little bit at a time, pace yourself and never leave it all until the night before it’s due. This will cause you unnecessary stress and could bring your mark down.
  4. Take notes – Even for the most boring subjects, taking notes will not only help you remember your learning but also save you from rushing around through exam time. Leaving the first couple pages in the front of your book to be used as the table of contents can really keep your notebook organized and easily accessible.
  5. Relax – School can be stressful and full of work but you should always give yourself the needed time at night to let yourself relax and enjoy the rest of your day. Yes, school and work will take up most of our day but that doesn’t mean you have to spend it all stressed out and worrying.

I hope these things to remember for the back-to-school days have helped you as much as they have helped me. What do you try to remember for your back to school days?
