W.E. Care for Kids Kicks Off Lemonade Brigade with a Virtual Option

The Windsor Essex Care for Kids Foundation (W.E. Care for Kids) will be kicking off their 4th annual fundraising initiative – the “Lemonade Brigade” with the first Lemonade Stand of the season at Omega Tool Corp, run by Jacob Cecchin. Over the last 3 years, the Lemonade Brigade has raised over $70,000 for local paediatric healthcare programs, the charity hopes to continue the campaigns success in 2020.

On July 2nd at noon, President of W.E. Care for Kids, Mike Brain, will join the staff at Omega Tool Corp (2045 Solar Crescent. Maidstone), for a socially distanced BBQ lunch and Lemonade Stand to launch the 2020 “Lemonade Brigade” Campaign and celebrate first of many “Lemonade Brigade” stands that are expected to pop up around Windsor Essex County this summer. Omega Tool Corp has helped kick off the annual campaign with a generous donation of $5,000 towards their Lemonade Brigade Stand and W.E. Care for Kids Board President will be on hand for the cheque presentation.

This year, with the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, W.E. Care for Kids is offering two options for this year’s Lemonade Brigade– Virtual Stands & In-Person Stands. Each child who signs up to join the “Lemonade Brigade” on the W.E. Care for Kids website will be given the opportunity to set up their very own customizable fundraising page, where they can run a virtual lemonade stand and send donation links to friends family for support. In addition, children who are interested running a physical stand are also provided with the tools to do so online, with downloadable posters and instructions also available on the website.

W.E. Care for Kids is dedicated to enhancing the health and wellness of children in Windsor and Essex County through fundraising initiatives. Since 1997, W.E. Care for Kids has raised more $8.5 million in support of equipment for paediatric programs and services at local hospitals, as well as the John McGivney Children’s Centre, Ronald McDonald House Windsor, The Learning Disabilities Association of Windsor Essex, Family Respite Services, Windsor Essex Child Youth Advocacy Centre, Connections Early Years Centre and Windsor Essex Therapeutic Riding Association.
