Windsor Comicon Huge Success – PIX!

Windsor Comicon Huge Success!

At this year’s Windsor Comicon, there were Hobbits, Hulks, and Heartthrobs on hand!

To start it all off, Friday morning kicked off with a press conference at Caesars Windsor featuring Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens and Lou Ferrigno.

Stars Sean Astin, Lou Ferrigno, Jason Priestley, the always lovely Tia Carrere, as well as many other actors and voice over artists stopped by Caesars Windsor the weekend October 15 & 16, 2016 to meet local fans and sign some autographs. And to add to the geeky atmosphere was the amazing fan made costumes that were on display! Some of those costumes rivaled what you may see in the movies. It’s clear from the smiles on the faces on the attendees and the guest that everyone was having a good time.

With loads of vendors satisfying every geeks wish….there really was something for everyone this year! Genres like Sci Fi, Anime, Comics, and television from many eras were all highlighted. It was an isle upon isle smorgasbord of posters, figures, jewelry, and clothing! Many artists had their work on display for fans to purchase as well.

As a special treat, on Sunday morning Sean Astin paid a few Biz X folks and a lucky contest winner a visit during a special Meet & Greet. An admitted Star Wars fan, he was charming and fun to listen to. Everyone on hand heard stories of the filming of “Lord of the Rings” and four year old Dylan of the Biz X family asked Sean if he still talks to the other Hobbits. (According to Sean, he does!)

When he was asked if he considered himself a Geek, he humbly replied that he “feels like people with that title can do cool things.” He added, “I like to think I’m in a space near them…in the same neighbourhood.”

Sean was also asked what it was like to see his image on toys and in video games. He answered jokingly “The first time I saw myself as an action figure, I thought ‘Anyone can get one of these!’”

We thank the folks who put this amazing event on, and the stars that visited. We are looking forward to being star struck again next year!
