Biz X Was There – Windsor Jeep Jam 2018

The Jeep Jam Poker Run took place Sunday, September 30, 2018.  Poker Run TEAMS gathered at Malden Park, located at 4200 Malden Road in Windsor, before setting off on a scenic ride throughout Essex County.  The run ended back at Malden Park where participants and their guests enjoyed the facilities which include team challenges, the final card pull station and a BBQ.

Jeep branded vehicles entered a team at the Jeep Jam event now celebrating five great years! This year organizers introduced “Team Jeep,” adding a component to the run which had Jeep drivers competing for points to win this year’s Team Jeep Challenge!

The Windsor Jeep Club saw returning friends as well as some new faces too!

The funds stay locally in our community and are directed to Assisted Living Southwestern Ontario (A.L.S.O) Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) programs and services.

Each year over 160,000 Canadians sustain a brain injury, and these incidences are rising according to the Brain Injury Association of Canada.  The Windsor Jeep Club hopes to bring awareness to the cause and remind drivers to be cautious when driving.  About 50% of all acquired brain injuries in Canada come from falls and motor vehicle accidents.  “Most Brain injury survivors are not able to fundraise or bring awareness to the public due to the type of injury they sustain and their families are often too busy taking care of their loved one to organize events. This is why the Windsor Jeep Club organizes the event and hopes to raise much needed funds and to also bring awareness to our community on what ALSO is doing locally for brain injury survivors.
