Businesses honoured for generosity to the community United Way Announces 2015 I Believe in My Community Award Finalists.
United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2015 I Believe in My Community Awards. Today, at a news conference at the Windsor Star News Café, 26 finalists which exemplify generosity, community spirit, and leadership are being recognized. Together, the nominees raise thousands of dollars, volunteer countless hours, and change lives – right here at home.
“The people, businesses, and unions who are honoured this year exemplify what our Bold Possibilities Campaign is all about,” says Lorraine Goddard, CEO of United Way. “The people of Windsor and Essex County are taking bold action against poverty by supporting United Way. Our friends and partners are making the work of United Way funded programs possible through their outstanding community contributions. Today is our chance to say a heartfelt thank you to those who are going above and beyond.”
At the upcoming celebration, three special United Way awards will also be presented to Caesars Windsor for the Corporate Community Excellence Award, CUPE Local 82 for the Labour Award of Distinction, and Bill and Rochelle Tepperman for the Leading the Way Award.
