2024 Nominations Open For 2nd Annual Windsor-Tecumseh Griswold Awards

Andrew Dowie, MPP for Windsor-Tecumseh, has announced the return of the Griswold Awards for their second year of celebrating the spectacular holiday decorations at the homes and businesses in our community!

Inspired by the over-the-top holiday antics of Clark Griswold from the movie National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, the Griswold Awards recognize those who not only showcase festive displays but embody the dedication of spreading holiday cheer to all those who pass by their home or business.

“The Griswold awards are a small way we can show appreciation and recognition for the time and effort our neighbours make during the holiday season,” says Dowie.”Last year, we had a great time visiting the decorated homes of residents, and we are excited to recognize those who contribute to spreading holiday cheer in our community once again.”

To make a nomination, please email the name and address of the individual, organization or business you would like to be acknowledged to [email protected]. Please include a photo of the holiday display you are nominating as an attachment in your email.

Everyone nominated will receive a certificate from Dowie’s office. The top 10 entries, as judged by their office staff, will receive a special “Top 10” certificate, which will be presented to them in person by MPP Dowie.

The submission deadline is Friday, December 13.

We encourage residents to embrace the bold, creative spirit of Clark Griswold and take some time to appreciate the warmth and cheer that are added to our surroundings. Thank you in advance for recognizing Windsor-Tecumseh’s best decorations this holiday season!
