Over the past week a disturbing health trend has originated from China.  The movement is called the A4 Waist Challenge.

The A4 Waist Challenge has has sparked a dangerous practice which encourages people to pose with an A4 sized piece paper (a span of approximately 8.3 inches, or 21 centimetres) across their waists.

The images circulated on social media are sparking a debate about beauty standards.
