March Forum Brings Awareness Of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
The Respect Forum is a national networking initiative that engages community-based partnerships to help leverage accessible resources and deliver strategies (through knowledge development, relationship building and collaboration) to build awareness of how Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder can lead to substance addiction, destruction of the family, suicide, and homelessness.
“PTSD affects many people from all walks of life in different ways. Recognizing the symptoms and having the multi dimensional tools to respond accordingly can be instrumental in moving the partnership process forward through the collaboration of all players,” says Lieutenant-Colonel (retired) Morris Brause CD2, Facilitator for the Southwestern Ontario Respect Canada forum.
The Respect Forum presentations are designed for Canada’s military veterans, emergency first responders, and all levels of government; for mental health care-providers, social service agencies, and peer support organizations that serve populations experiencing PTSD.
The Windsor Respect Forum will be presented at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 594 located at 5030 Howard Avenue in Oldcastle, Ontario on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.
Doors open at 9 a.m. with a meet and greet with light refreshments available. The forum will proceed at 9:15 a.m. and conclude at noon.
Protocols require that attendees must respect social distancing and wear a face mask.
Attendees are asked to RSVP to Morris Brause by email at: [email protected] or at (519) 965-0749.
