BANA LEAVING ITS MARK ON THE MAYOR’S WALK
For the past 9 years, BULIMIA ANOREXIA NERVOSA ASSOCIATION (BANA) has partnered with the City of Windsor’s annual MAYOR’S WALK on the Monday of the Victoria Day weekend. The MAYOR’S WALK runs from the base of the Ambassador Bridge, along the riverfront and into the City of Windsor’s 124th Birthday Celebration event at the Riverfront Civic Terrace.
CHALKING IT UP TO ANOTHER GREAT YEAR
We believe in the importance of spreading positive messages to increase healthy body image and self-esteem. In order to involve the community in this movement, BANA, in partnership with the Mayor’s Walk & birthday celebration will be writing positive messages in chalk along the length of the walk route.
All municipal lots and meters are free of charge on Monday, May 23rd, Victoria Day.
Free parking to participants of the Mayor’s Walk is also provided at the University of Windsor in lots AA, B or C; and for volunteers, vendors, etc. that will be working at the plaza, there is parking west of Festival Plaza at Civic Terrace, immediately behind the stage. Security will be at the gate limiting access but provide them with your corporation or organization’s name & you will be provided access.
The Walk begins sharply at 10:30 a.m. from Assumption Park. The Mayor will welcome participants at approximately 10:20-10:25, followed by a warm up before heading out along the river.
Walkers will meet in front of the Voyageur Canoe in Ambassador Park – along the riverfront path between Sunset Ave and Patricia Rd.
