Our 27th annual Biz X Awards edition celebrates with a music theme: Hitting The Right Note. Not only does this describe our awards program, but it also relates to the 196 nominees who have definitely struck a chord with their clients. All their hard work has paid off to earn them a nomination, and we end another year of our awards on a positive note by revealing the 24 final winners.
COVER MODEL: Local artist Christian Vegh also has hit the right note for success! On the cover, this past Biz X Award winner for Artist of the Year in 2016 is pictured singing, to represent our music theme. However, Vegh is not only an accomplished Singer/Songwriter and Guitarist; he has started modelling and acting this past year. With appearances on the runway and on the cover of five magazines, he has modelled clothing, furs, leathers and accessories, such as Breitling watches, and is a brand model for the CEO clothing/accessories line. Vegh has also scored music and performed and appeared in films, such
as a New York based reality show on Bravo, and is a regular on Dame Dash’s America Nu Network. This year he is currently on the Grammy Ballot for his fourth album AAA (Vegh is the Composer/Performer/Producer) and on the Ballot for The D album with Detroit’s award-winning band Slight Return (he is a Singer/Guitarist). His next project is Mass on Press, an electronic music album collaboration with a New York DJ/Producer, with Vegh performing and singing in Latin. Deborah Jones – Publisher of Biz X Magazine Deborah Jones graduated from the University of Windsor with an Honours Degree in Communication Studies and was employed at two other local magazines shortly after for a few years learning all she could about writing, advertising, public relations and more. She made the jump in 1998 to go out on her own to publish Biz X magazine and has worked in the publishing industry since 1990. In 2007, she earned the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award from the Windsor & District Chamber of Commerce. To date, she is the ONLY woman so far to receive this award. In 2013, she received one of the first “Windsor Women of the Year” awards from the Ladies Exclusive Alliance. Her most recent achievement is the 2023 Media Award from the Windsor Essex Chapter of the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Deborah is proud to live in Windsor and truly cares about each and every business and strives to make Windsor Essex the best place to live, work and play.
