City of Windsor Holiday Hours Canada Day

City of Windsor offices will be closed on Monday, July 3, 2017 in observance of the Canada Day holiday, which takes place on Saturday, July 1, 2017. The City Council meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 4, 2017 has been cancelled, and the next City Council meeting will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall.

311 Call Centre

The 311 Call Centre will be closed on Monday, July 3, 2017. Regular hours resume onTuesday, July 4, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

211 Windsor-Essex

The 211 Call Centre will be open 24 hours on Saturday and Monday to serve residents throughout Windsor and Essex County.

Garbage and Recycling Collections

There will be no residential collection services on Monday, July 3, 2017Residentialgarbage, yard waste and recycling collection services will be delayed by one (1) day.  Please refer to your 2017-2018 Waste Collection Calendar. Public Drop-off & Household Chemical Waste Depots

The depot located at the northeast corner of Central Avenue and E.C. Row will beopen on Saturday, July 1, 2017 but closed on Monday, July 3, 2017. Regular summer hours of operation are Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., during which the depot is available (holidays excepted) for the self-disposal of garbage, renovation material, furniture, recyclables, appliances, tires, shingles and yard waste. Some disposal fees may apply.

Parks and Recreation

All Community Centres and all Customer Care Centres will be closed with the exception of scheduled rentals on July 1, 2017. All Community Centres and all Customer Care Centres will be open on Monday July 3, 2017 for regular hours of operation.

All indoor pools will be closed on Saturday, July 1, 2017 with the exception of the Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre (WIATC) Presented by WFCU Credit Union, which will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the natatorium for Open Adult and Fit Lanes, and 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the fitness centre. Sandpoint Beach will be open 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. weather permitting. Regular hours apply to all aquatic facilities on Monday, July 3, 2017.

All arenas will be closed on Saturday, July 1, 2017 and open regular hours on Monday, July 3, 2017.

Adventure Bay Family Water Park

Adventure Bay Family Water Park Presented by WFCU Credit Union begins its summer hours on Canada Day and will be open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily from July 1, 2017 to September 3, 2017.

Parking Enforcement

There will be no parking enforcement on Saturday, July 1 or Monday, July 3, 2017, and municipal ticket payment offices will be closed. Ticket payments may still be made online.

Windsor Public Library

All locations of the Windsor Public Library will be closed on Saturday, July 1, 2017. Regular hours resume on Monday, July 3, 2017.

Museum Windsor

Chimczuk Museum and François Baby House locations will both be open on Canada Day, July 1, 2017. The museums are normally closed on Mondays and will remain closed on Monday, July 3, 2017.

Transit Windsor

City buses will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on July 1, 2017. The Tunnel Bus will operate on a Saturday schedule. Schedules and route maps are available online. Customer Service at 300 Chatham Street West is open regular hours, from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. The sales office at 3700 North Service Road East is closed on weekends and will be closed on Monday, July 3, 2017in observance of the holiday.
