Speakers Reveal Life-Changing Moments on Virtual Stage for International Day of the Girl

Individuals of all ages from high school to executive leadership are encouraged to attend Build a Dream’s inspirational event Dreamer Day: Pivotal Moments on October 7, 2021.

Held annually to honour International Day of the Girl, Build a Dream’s fundraiser this year will feature women of all ages talking about the good, bad, big, and small moments that changed their lives and drove them to do the work they do today.

“Real change in making equitable work and community spaces come from advocates and allies who are challenging the status quo. The experiences and Pivotal Moments being shared are so varied but will provoke thought and inspire positive change.”

The event emcee will be Kayla-Marie Tracy, CP24 Toronto’s Breaking News anchor/reporter who has recently returned from covering the Tokyo Olympics.

  • Jenn Harper, Mental Health Advocate & CEO, Cheekbone Beauty, an Indigenous-owned cosmetics company that creates high quality, cruelty-free beauty products (as seen on Dragon’s Den!).
  • Niru Somayajula, President & CEO, Sensor Technology Ltd., a global leader in piezoelectric high tech ceramic material (piezoelectricity) acoustic tools and systems.
  • Kehkashan Basu, Founder & President,Green Hope Foundation, a youth led not-for-profit that combines grassroots action with advocacy at the highest levels of policy making “to create a just, equitable, peaceful and nuclear-weapons-free world.”
  • Coach Carey, a Certified Life Coach and motivational speaker who provides support, guidance, and motivation to help clients build confidence.

Virtual event takes place on Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 12:30 to 3:30 pm ET. Tickets are available online including group tickets and a VEP Experience Box.
