Windsor-Essex stakeholders launch More Windsor Campaign
The Imaginative Group, in conjunction with eleven partners comprised of business improvement associations, economic development and tourism offices across Windsor-Essex County, has recently launched the More Windsor marketing campaign. This cross-border advertising initiative aims to increase visitation to the region by focusing its efforts on residents of the Greater Detroit Area.
More Windsor is designed to help Detroit residents understand the benefits of visiting Windsor-Essex. Upcoming events, dining and cultural experiences, and local points of interest are just a few examples of what is being promoted. The campaign will also provide information about “crossing made easy,” such as how to apply for an enhanced driver’s license, which serves as a cost-effective alternative to passport applications.
“The More Windsor campaign is an outstanding initiative that promotes small independent businesses and leverages Windsor-Essex’s many assets to drive US visitation to the region,” said Rino Bortolin, Chair of the Windsor Business Improvement Areas Association and Windsor’s Ward 3 Councillor.
To help solidify the campaign’s success, it is being run on a myriad of marketing platforms. These include digital and traditional mediums, such as social media, search engine marketing, print media, and radio. General information about the partners is also being made available on the More Windsor website.
The initiative will span the time frame of July to October, 2017, where after the partners will evaluate the campaign’s effectiveness and consider next steps.
