Odette School of Business MBAs Celebrate Community Champions
In an awards ceremony held December 8, 2017 Master of Business Administration students from the Odette School of Business teamed up with nine of our region’s most impactful leaders to learn how to lead with meaning and passion. Dean Mitch Fields expressed gratitude on behalf of the faculty for the commitment of this year’s Community Champions to our community and for their generosity in working with the class.
The featured leaders this year were: Doris Lapico, founder of Transition to Betterness; Becky Parent, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters; Lisa Gretzky, MPP, Windsor West; Sheila Barker, Past President, Women’s Enterprise Skills Training of Windsor; Chief Al Frederick, Windsor Police Services; Jo-Anne Gignac, Councilor, City of Windsor; Angelo Pernasilici, Founder and President, Laser Transport; Denise Hrastovec, Assurance and Advisory Partner at Collins Barrow Windsor LLP and Sherrilynn Colley-Vegh (Biz X magazine writer), Director of Leadership & Training United Way/Leadership Windsor Essex.
After meeting and interviewing their assigned leader, each team prepared a presentation that celebrated the accomplishments of their Community Champion.
This is a highlight of the semester for our students. They learn lasting lessons that will serve them well as they continue their own leadership journeys”, says Professor Dr. Martha Reavley, the course instructor.
