THE PARENTING BIZ – Revitalize, Rejuvenate And Relax . . . For Parents who Need a Little Pampering this March Break, or After a Hectic Day at Work

I was so excited to get this assignment, as this month’s Parenting Biz Feature Story is directed at the “big kids,” regarding March Break.

Parents always seem to go out of their way to do something special with their children during this time, and often forget that sometimes they need a break as well and need to kick back. That’s the whole point of this article, as we try to point out something to do just for YOU.

This article profiles three local companies that can assist in taking your stress away. Right about now, you might just be at your breaking point as your child might be turning the house upside down or perhaps even work is a nightmare too!

All businesses we feature offer multiple relaxation services, but each one has something unique. I hope you enjoy reading about these companies as much as I have enjoyed writing about them. And hopefully, you can take us up on our suggestions this month or whenever is best for you throughout 2025.

Over the years, I have always treated myself to massages, facials and I have used saunas at a number of places.

About five or six years ago, I was introduced to a salt room at a spa in Brantford, ON. My breathing improved after being in it for 45 minutes. To learn Windsor now has a salt cave and I no longer need to travel for this type of therapy is amazing! This small business in Windsor I am referring to — LitRosi Day Spa — has many varied services to pamper you.

The next guilty pleasure I experienced involved a cruise where I purchased the thermal spa package. I could not get enough of the snow room! I would go from the salt room, to the steam room and end up in the snow room. The cold air was so invigorating.

While Windsor Essex does not have snow room as of yet, the Wilderness Retreat and Nordic Spa in Kingsville has a cold plunge you can do after you’ve been in a sauna.

I do know someone (see accompanying photo on the next page) who recently celebrated her birthday there and she absolutely loved it. This spa offers many unique services to help you take the edge off and relax.

Following these two write-ups is a business that I have recently visited.

For Christmas 2024, Santa gave me a float/sauna gift card to the third business we focus on, located in LaSalle’s Active Body Plaza . . . Float LaSalle.

They have floatation therapy pods and infrared heat therapy saunas, plus many other services. I totally enjoyed my float and sitting (sweating, LOL!) in the infrared sauna and have experienced a hot stone massage there as well.

So take a deep breath, play some relaxing music in the background, grab your favourite beverage and read on to see some new ways to relax your mind and body as we give you more details on these three businesses.

Please keep in mind though that it’s important for anyone with a pre-existing condition to check with a healthcare provider to be sure they can safely experience any of the relaxation services listed here.
