ROLLING WHEELS TO BOOST OPPORTUNITIES FOR EASTER SEALS KIDS

Kids with physical disabilities to benefit from 1km challenge this summer.

Easter Seals Ontario has launched Rolling Wheels for Easter Seals presented by Orkin Canada to boost opportunities for kids with physical disabilities. The program will invite Easter Seals kids along with their families, friends and supporters alike throughout Southwestern Ontario to roll, wheel, blade, walk or run 1km on Saturday, July 24, 2021.

“Though the economy has started to open throughout the province, our ability to host traditional fundraisers in our community remains restricted,” says Easter Seals’ Development Officer, Jeremy Renaud “This challenges our team to find new ways to raise funds, which transform into opportunities for kids in our community who need it most.”

Individuals in communities including London-Middlesex, Hamilton-Wentworth, Halton Region, Niagara region and Windsor-Essex are invited to get active and take the Rolling Wheels challenge.

“Individuals who register for Rolling Wheels this summer can execute the challenge at their own pace and leisure, wherever they choose in their respective neighourhoods, parks, playgrounds or trails,” says Renaud. We are excited to offer a program to engage communities and drive funds that will help provide opportunities for kids with physical disabilities to live with greater independence, freedom and dignity.”

Participants are invited to register as a team or as an individual online at EasterSeals.org/Rolling-Wheels.

Easter Seals Ontario is now in its 99th year of being a champion for children and youth with physical disabilities from all ethnic and religious backgrounds within the communities of Windsor-Essex and across the province. Its roots emerged from Rotary locally who spearheaded the founding organization, The Ontario Society for Crippled Children (November 28, 1922). Programs include funding for essential mobility and accessibility equipment, fully accessible summer camp opportunities at its two properties, Camp Merrywood and Camp Woodeden, online virtual camp programming, public awareness, and information resources. Easter Seals provides its programs and services thanks to the generous support of its donors and sponsors.
