Summer Fest 2018 Around the Corner

Summer Fest 2018 is a seventeen day Festival, which takes place along the scenic Riverfront in downtown Windsor. This Festival is a perennial favourite for the entire family, offering something for all ages.

Over the years more than 500,000 people annually have visited the Festival and participated and enjoyed the many activities and performers which are part Summer Fest by the River. This community event which is a hallmark of the Summer Festival Season commences June 15, 2018 with the opening of World’s Finest Shows midway in the Festival Plaza and the Civic Terrace. Each weekend hosts a variety of entertainment choices including wizard’s workshop, character meet and greet, clowns, face painting, a multitude of various ethnic dance groups, mystic drum show and a lumberjack show.

June 23 is the 42nd annual International Tug Boat Race and shore party at 1pm. This year we will be showcasing more tugs then in years past. The captains have been working hard to get their tugs in “tip top” shape for the race. That evening Summer Fest is hosting a concert on the main stage in the festival Plaza featuring Music Express at 8pm.

5000 piece Canada Day Birthday Cake at the Festival Plaza

Canada Day is the anchor event of the Festival. The Canada Day Parade, children’s entertainment, and the giant 5000 piece Birthday Cake will make this a Birthday to remember. This year’s Parade commences at Giles and Ouellette and heads north along Ouellette Ave to Pitt. Following the parade there is a lot of entertainment at the Festival Plaza and on Ouellette Ave between Pitt and Riverside Drive. Both will showcase a Canada Day birthday cake and live entertainment.

Don’t miss the fun and excitement of the official kick to summer with Summer Fest by the River. Remember – “there is more to see for free.”
