Area Schools, Host Organizing Committee & Teachers Life, partner in Pucks For Bucks nutrition initiative

Area schools, the 2017 Mastercard Memorial Cup Host Organizing Committee and Teachers Life are teaming up to provide healthy food to students across the region through the Pucks For Bucks initiative, in support of the Jumpstart Nutrition Program.

Currently, 114 Elementary and Secondary Schools across the Greater Essex County District School Board, Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board and CSC Providence provide healthy snacks and meals to thousands of local students on a daily basis.

With Windsor playing host to the 99th edition of the Mastercard Memorial Cup (May 18th to 28th), there is a unique opportunity to raise funds in support of nutrition programs in our communities.

Starting May 1st, students from schools who register for the program will raise money for their nutrition programs, while a donation from Teachers Life will help the Jumpstart Nutrition Program reach more schools and students across Windsor-Essex.

Participating schools will receive a commemorative 2017 Mastercard Memorial Cup puck, mini-stick and a shootout board with a thermometer placard to help keep track of their funds raised.

Later in May, during the Mastercard Memorial Cup tournament, there will be a cheque presentation made to the Jumpstart Nutrition Program on behalf of all participating schools, Teachers Life and the Host Organizing Committee.
