WINDSOR-ESSEX CHILDREN’S AID FOUNDATION UNVEILS CAMPAIGN GRAPHIC

The Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Foundation (WECAF) has unveiled the graphic that will be used to represent its $1.5 million, 3-year fundraising campaign, Children, Youth & Families, Strength for Today – Opportunities for Tomorrow. The graphic has been affixed to the full extent of the windows of the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society (WECAS) building at 1671 Riverside Drive East.

Created by internationally recognized editor and children’s book illustrator, Keith Negley, the concept was born out of consultations held with WECAS staff, and youth that are supported by the Society. It represents individuals supporting children, youth and families who may face obstacles to cross a path from a place of darkness to a new reality filled with light and hope for tomorrow. It also celebrates diversity and the individual and cultural differences that make all of us unique.

This message mirrors the new WECAF campaign. A number of families and youth whom the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society supports face many challenges such as poverty, unemployment, addictions and mental health. This campaign strives to enhance existing programs, and create new initiatives that will reduce these financial and emotional stressors, and in turn provide opportunities for enrichment and success.

The WECAF Board of Directors encourages members of the community as they walk or drive down Riverside Drive to have a look at this meaningful and impactful piece of public art. Consider how you may be able to get involved.
