On Wednesday March 30, 2016 the Windsor Police Drug and Guns Unit (DIGS) were active in a drug trafficking investigation.
The Windsor Police investigation centred around a male actively dealing crack cocaine within the city of Windsor. At approximately 7:30pm, officers located the male suspect with another male in the area of Sandwich Street and Prince Road.
Members of DIGS and the Emergency Service Unit (ESU) were able to place both of the suspects under arrest, after a brief foot chase. A 35 year old male was arrested and officers searched him and seized 11.6 grams of crack cocaine and a quantity of cash. A 23 year old male was arrested and officers seized a quantity of cash, along with a bag containing percocet tablets that he allegedly tossed while running away.
Officers also obtained a search warrant for a room located in the 3600 block of Sandwich Street. Officers located and seized 82.6grams of cocaine, 28.5 grams of crack cocaine and a functioning scale. The total value of the drugs seized was approximately $12,500.
As part of the investigation a female from Toronto was also found to be allegedly staying in the room. A warrant was requested for her arrest and on Friday April 1, 2016, she turned herself in at Windsor Police headquarters.
Jahton Blair, a 35 year old male from the GTA, is charged with Trafficking Cocaine, 2 counts of Possession of Crack Cocaine for Trafficking, Possession of Cocaine for Trafficking.
David Moore, a 23 year old male from the GTA, is charged with 3 counts of Trafficking Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Crack Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Oxycodone.
Amber Okhomina, a 34 year old female from the GTA is charged with 2 counts of Possession of Crack Cocaine for Trafficking.
