Meet the 2018 Libro Credit Union Student Award Winners

Libro Credit Union is awarding a total of $62,000 to passionate student leaders from across southwestern Ontario through the Libro Student Award Program, supporting youth leadership and building prosperity across the region.

Each of the 31 youth honoured with a $2,000 award demonstrated outstanding leadership, commitment and service in their local communities through volunteerism while balancing a high level of academic performance. Since 2012, Libro has awarded more than $360,000 to 166 students between the ages of 17 and 25 through its Student Award Program.

There were eight local recipients of the Libro Credit Union Student Award, as listed below:

  • Natalie Pallisco – Amherstburg
  • Gillian Marshall – Belle River
  • Rain Pfaff – Blenheim
  • Zak Hu – Essex
  • Zachary Lauzon – Harrow
  • Emma Muldoon – Kingsville
  • Jessica DeSantis – Leamington
  • Sierra Currie – Woodslee

The local student award recipients were presented with their awards at a celebration at Oxley Estate Winery on Thursday evening. “We’re inspired and awed by these students,” said Lori Atkinson, Libro’s Regional Manager for Essex-Kent. “To be so committed to their communities and to improving themselves academically at their age, it’s not a one-shot deal. We’re excited to support these students on their educational journey and to see what they bring to the table in the future.”
