Windsor Classic Chorale “Lest We Forget”
The Windsor Classic Chorale, Windsor-Ontario’s premier chamber choir, has become a core component of the local arts community, dedicated to achieving artistic excellence by maintaining a high level of musicianship with a rich palette of ambitious choral works.
As with many musicians during this time, the WCC has made the necessary transition to a completely virtual format for its rehearsals and performances and is getting ready to present the first virtual performance of its 2020-2021 season: “Lest We Forget” – A Remembrance Day Virtual Concert.
It has been a longstanding tradition of the WCC to present a concert every November to honour the sacrifices made by our Canadian soldiers in war. This performance will be available to watch via the WCC’s official YouTube page and website on November 6th.
Despite the challenges faced as a result of the pandemic, the WCC has interpreted this period as a time of growth and rebirth. As such, the program for the WCC’s second virtual concert, “Awakening”, will serve as a reflection of this period of challenge and growth – for the WCC and its community.
Look forward to more information on this performance in the upcoming year.
The WCC says it considers it a privilege to perform in this community; “What brings us together is our love for choral music and the belief that it expresses the deepest parts of our humanity.”
Furthermore, they believe in using music to connect with each other and with our community. Although they are not able to have their audiences hear them in person, this transition to a virtual format is providing the WCC with the opportunity to extend its performances to audiences beyond Windsor and Essex County.
